Arntanaro Nelson Car Accident: Wilmington, Ohio Man Died after Being Hit by Banshee Roller Coaster in Kings Island

Chief executive officer at RareBreed LLC, Arntanaro Nelson, of Wilmington, Ohio, has sadly passed away. He died after a tragic incident that happened on Wednesday. According to an incident report from Mason police, Nelson was discovered with a serious injury in a restricted area near the Banshee roller coaster on Wednesday night, June 19, 2024. Amusement park officials have indicated that they believe Nelson may have been hit by the ride.

Mason police, speaking to The Enquirer, had previously stated that Nelson entered the restricted area in an attempt to retrieve keys he had dropped while riding the Banshee. Nelson was initially taken to West Chester Hospital and subsequently transferred to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center via medical helicopter. He was pronounced dead after a short while.

The incident remains under investigation by Kings Island, Mason police, and the Ohio Department of Agriculture’s Division of Amusement Ride Safety and Fairs. As a result of the ongoing investigations, the Banshee roller coaster is anticipated to remain closed. Chad Showalter, the park’s director of communications, confirmed that the ride continues to be closed as of Friday evening, with no specified timetable for when it will reopen.
