His death was revealed in a sad Facebook post: “Last night we lost Joee Cons, someone who has long been a vital part of Toronto’s dance music community. I shed tears at work earlier today, but I couldn’t sit back and ignore the impact this man has had on Toronto’s nightlife community for so many years. No cause of death has been stated’.

Who Was Joey Cons?

Joee Cons, a renowned DJ, producer, and remixer, began his musical career in Toronto, Canada. Inspired by the colorful dance scenes of New York, Chicago, Detroit, and London, he was immediately captivated by the energy created when two tracks were flawlessly merged. This desire inspired him to begin DJing at clubs, underground events, and infamous raves.

Joee’s debut track, “Get Funkee,” peaked at number 10 on the Canadian Dance Chart and landed him a deal with Strictly Rhythm’s Groovilicious record label. In 2006, he remixed Carlo Lio’s “Everybody,” which received support from Carl Cox. His other famous productions include the single “Don’t Stop,” which appears on Canada’s Finest House Compilation.
