Sarah Becker, best known for her appearance in MTV’s “The Real World” Season 5, has passed away at the age of 52. Becker appeared in the fifth season of the reality series, which was set in Miami. According to TMZ, Becker died by suicide earlier this week at her home in Illinois, as confirmed by her family.
Friends and fans have taken to social media to mourn her loss and remember the vibrant personality she brought into their lives. Daniel Norton shared a heartfelt tribute on Facebook, saying, “Sarah Becker was made of pure sunshine… Full of energy and positivity, you couldn’t help but feel her warmth standing in her presence. I am grateful for our adventures and laughs. Big hugs to all the Wildstorm fam!” He further added, “I think Sarah was always one of those people, that after you’ve met them, you have a fond memory or a funny story with them in it. Something you can always look back on and share with who you’re with. That was her power.”
Becker had moved to Illinois last year to take care of family and had been struggling with mental health issues in recent months. TMZ reports that she had also been involved in a skateboarding accident recently, which might have contributed to her struggles.
Joel Benjamin, another friend, shared his grief on Facebook, posting photos and expressing his sorrow. “I just found out that one of the nicest people that have ever been put in my life, especially during my impressionable ages in my life has passed away. Every time I thought of her I would always see her smile, and bubbly personality. You were loved and will be missed,” he wrote.
