On September 21, 1977, Todd Matthew Keeling was born in Omaha, Nebraska’s Methodist Hospital. His mother Debb Andersen (Michael), father Bob Keeling (Diane), grandmother Lyle Keeling, brother Dana Keeling (Doni), and their children Bruce, Wesleigh, and Trinity survive him. His children Delilah Skye Keeling, Asa Oschen Keeling, Brody Aiden Kai Keeling, Amelia Jane Keeling, and Henry Conrad Keeling also survive. Robert Keeling Sr. and his grandparents, Hank and Marilyn Kessler, are with him in spirit.

Todd was never one to crawl as a baby. He immediately made an impression on everyone, and while perched atop a supermarket cart, he greeted them all warmly and enthusiastically. He lived in Omaha and Florida for the majority of his life, both with their own set of duties and pleasures. He loved both of his families very much.

Todd’s heart stayed connected to his loved ones even after graduating from Cocoa Beach High School, as he showed so movingly when he contacted his mother on her birthday to participate in the excitement of a Space Shuttle launch from Cape Canaveral. He saw surprise and possibility in everything, from the ordinary to the exceptional, due to his contagious zest for life.

To him, things that appeared like a hardship to us were opportunities. He would share what he had, chat to anyone, and lend a helping hand to anyone. Todd was always available to help if you needed it. Todd lived on Todd time, which mainly drove us crazy, but it didn’t matter because his smiles, quips, and real light made up for it when he did show up. Todd saw his friends and family as one and the same, and his devotion had no limits. He wasn’t straightforward or intricate. All he wanted was to be loved and to be loved in return. Todd wanted everyone in the room to make fun of him or you. The rest of us were afraid of Todd because of his fearlessness and childlike heart, but knowing Jesus gave him the bravery and the essence of who he truly was. He felt no shame in discussing religion and heaven in depth.
